Split ends occur with dryness. You can prevent them by using a little Dread Butta or Dread-Licious on your dreads a few times a month. Once you have split ends you can't repair them, they can only be cut - but rather than cutting, it's generally better to pull them into the dread with a Lock Sculpta. They don't cause problems themselves but they are an indication that you need to moisturize the dreads more regularly.
